Your novel is great! A producer or director is interested! Yeah! You should be excited, right?...maybe.
Stage, radio, T.V., or film each have their own conventions and are highly economical. If you don't adjust fast enough to the craft, your novel could be dropped or delegated to someone else. Too many stories become unrecognizable by the time script "experts" are done adapting, or rather, butchering it.

Adapting Your Novel

"Susanna takes your big ideas and breaks them down into the molecules that power them. She plays the dual role of critic and cheerleader in a way that only someone of her training and experience can do."
- Daniel Mesta, New York Dramaturg and Playwright.
